It was held at the Econo Lodge in Smiths Falls. The location was great. The banquet room had a beautiful view of the river with a boat lock a short distance away. I was hoping that we would get to see the lock in operation, but I guess it was a little late in the season.

Our hosts were Sue Irvine and her daughter Lisa. The room was set up very operational with each crafter having either 4' or 8' of working space depending on what they registered for. I think there were about 33 ladies in attendance. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

We had three vendors on site with an assortment of products to purchase from. It was an added bonus to help add that finishing touch to some layouts.

I was able to complete 7 pages during this weekend. Yes, 7 PAGES!!!! That was an accomplishment for me.

This is one of my two favorites from this weekend. I love the way the pictures just pop.
The Christmas Tree is my take on a layout from Pinterest that looked really cute. I found that I didn't have the right pictures to complete it exactly as I wanted but I think it turned out pretty cute anyway.
I'm already looking forward to attending this event again next year. I have a whole year to take lots of pictures and maybe plan a little better on which ones I will be scrapbooking so I can downsize the amount of 'stuff' I need to take. No, that won't happen!!!

A big thank you to Croptopia and Sue Irvine for all the hard work put in to make this event a success!
The latest swap I joined was for an All Occasion card. I decided to test my creativity by doing a 'masculine' type of card. My mind was set on using the Born to Ride stamp set from CTMH. The card need to be manly in colour and style. Let me tell you, that was a challenge for me! I like the brighter colors, lots of bling and ribbon. I sort of satisfied my need by using dark coloured pearls. LOL This is the finished product that I sent out to the swap. Still thinking that it needs something to make it 'pop' a little more...

Let me know what you think!
I became a 'grandaunt' 5 times!!! Here are some updated pics of the Diva Duo I posted last year. Miss Shawna and Miss Isabella. Also introducing Miss Emily - the newest addition! She has her dad's bright eyes and her mom's beautiful smile (dimples included). Isabella is now walking and is going to be a real go getter! She is fearless! Shawna is walking and talking, starting to put short sentences together. They are all growing too fast!
Where has the time gone! My daughter starts grade 12 in two weeks. Next year at this time we will be sending her off to college! I'm not sure I'm ready for that! While I love the summer I have to say I'm looking forward to the fall and getting back to some regular routines. Let things slow down a little - but not just yet! We DO have two more weeks for some summer fun!

I haven't had much time for scrapbooking or crafting in the past several months. Life just got in the way! But, I have been taking lots of pictures so I have plenty of material to work with when I do get the chance. I became a great Aunt twice this year! Two beautiful little girls. Scrapbooking pictures of these two is going to be a joy. Here are their beautiful faces!
I've been itching to create some layouts with these two cuties but the weather has been to nice to spend too much time indoors. Having said that, my imagination has not been idle! My daughter and I have some plans in the works for Christmas cards, Hallowe'en treats and some homemade gifts. The possibilities are endless!

If you interested in scrapbooking or paper crafting, send me an email and I'd be more than happy to share information with you. I also know two wonderful ladies, a Close to my Heart rep and a Stampin' Up! rep who would be eager to help you get started as well. Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to preserve those special (and sometimes just funny) memories. Card making brings a personal touch back to a season that is way to commercialized now! There are also several Crop days coming up in the Arnprior/Renfrew area. These crafting days are great. Not only do you get to spend up to 12 hours doing whatever craft you love, but you get to spend that time with some great people who also love to craft, share ideas and make new friends! Email me at timmygal@hotmail.com. Not that I'm complaining! I'll take the milder weather anytime! I've decided to post a scrapbook layout that I did for a special friend. We met while I was in the hospital in December and her beautiful smile and cheery positive attitude helped me get better, more than I can ever express to her in words. I guess that is why they say 'a picture is worth a thousand words'!
Below is a template with the measurements listed. I used paper from the Perfect Day kit from Close to my Heart. The co-ordinating embellishments were purchased at Michael's.
For the month of March I'm thinking of trying to do a Smash book. These books seem like they are fun to do as there is no organization or fore thought required! You can make them as neat or as abstract as you feel, go with the moment!

The date for the next crop at Glad Tiding Church is February 18th. If your interested in attending, please email me and I will forward the contact info to you. Life has been very busy. As many of you already know, I've stepped down from being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I just felt that I didn't have the time to devote to it to make it a successful business. Paper crafting is still a passion and I still love the Stampin' Up! products! Starting in the new year, my blog will be taking a little different direction. My plan is for it to become a sort of Crafter's Library. I plan on posting new projects, techniques and tutorials. Until then I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Cheers!

It's hard to believe that today is September 1st already! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and was able to take lots of pictures. The fall season means that the local Crops will be starting up. The first one on my calendar is the Renfrew Crop on September 17th. This crop usually fills up fairly fast, but as of Monday there were still a few spaces available. If you are interested in attending, let me know and I'll put you in contact with the organizer. I will not be attending this crop as a vendor but will still be available for orders and hope to have the space to share my Big Shot, dies and punches.

The next big event will be the Croptopia 'Autumn in the Valley' weekend retreat at the Best Western Inn and Conference Centre in Renfrew on Oct 15 - 16th. This is an amazing 36 hour crop and includes 2 yummy lunches, 2 evening snacks, 6 feet of cropping space, door prizes and a registration goodie bag. There will also be free make and takes, demonstrations and the use of lots of cropping tools! It's a great time to relax, meet new friends, spend time with old friends and complete pages without interruptions, chores or work! You can check out all the details at http://www.croptopia.com/. This event I will be attending as a vendor and will have a supply of Designer Series Papers, Cardstock and adhesives and other product for sale. If there is anything you would like to order in time for this event please contact me by September 30th. I will also be placing an order by September 9th if anyone is in need of anything.
These little cuties just hatched yesterday. A very friendly mother robin made her nest on one of the supports of our rear deck and it has given us the opportunity to watch these little guys arrive. I'm hoping the two remaining eggs will hatch soon!

June 1, 2011 Update
Only three of the four eggs hatched. It was a great experience watching these little wonders hatch and grow. They left the nest on Monday evening. It took them a little while to 'find' their wings so my husband was able to get a few good pictures of them. We are feeling a little lost now and hope they come back to nest again next year!Valley Scrapperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10656551499860651125noreply@blogger.com0
